BTC rebounds from an intraday low near $76,400 as investors weigh inflation, interest-rate expectations and continued outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs
Bitcoin (BTC) experienced another volatile trading session Friday, rebounding toward $78,000 after briefly falling to approximately $76,400 as investors navigated shifting expectations for interest rates and broader risk assets.
The cryptocurrency traded as high as roughly $79,550 during the session before retreating, highlighting an increasingly contested technical range. Bitcoin has struggled to establish sustained momentum above the $78,000-$80,000 area, while buyers have continued to emerge around the mid-$76,000 range.
Macroeconomic conditions remain an important driver. U.S. inflation data and elevated Treasury yields have increased uncertainty surrounding the Federal Reserve’s next move, creating pressure across rate-sensitive and speculative assets. Broader U.S. equities, however, strengthened Friday as oil prices eased and inflation data came in near expectations.
Institutional flows are also in focus. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded their third consecutive session of net outflows on Thursday, according to one ETF-flow tracker, adding another potential headwind for Bitcoin’s near-term momentum.
Despite the recent pullback, Bitcoin remains well above its 50-day and 200-day moving averages, suggesting the broader technical structure has not completely deteriorated. However, short-term momentum remains mixed.
For traders, the immediate battle centers around whether Bitcoin can reclaim the upper-$70,000 range. A sustained break above $80,000 could strengthen bullish momentum, while another rejection could put the $75,000-$76,000 support region back in focus
