In a bid to optimize its internal structure and capitalize on growth opportunities, Marathon Digital (MARA) has announced plans to reorganize itself into business units, effective from the second quarter of 2024. This strategic initiative aims to enhance focus on key objectives, improve accountability, and diversify the business portfolio, ultimately driving long-term shareholder value.
Under this initiative, Mr. James Crawford will spearhead the digital asset mining business unit, overseeing global Bitcoin mining operations. Mr. Ashu Swami will lead the technology business unit, focusing on software, hardware, and technological advancements supporting the Bitcoin ecosystem. Meanwhile, Mr. Adam Swick will head the strategic initiatives and energy harvesting unit, driving sustainable energy projects and optimizing energy usage.
The executive team, including CEO Mr. Fred Thiel, CFO Mr. Salman Khan, and General Counsel Mr. Zabi Nowaid, will oversee the implementation of this strategic reorganization.
