Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) shares surged Monday, reaching a fresh all-time high as renewed enthusiasm for artificial intelligence stocks fueled a broad semiconductor rally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AMD climbed more than 9%, trading above $610 after reaching an intraday record above $613. The rally briefly pushed the chipmaker\u2019s market capitalization beyond $1 trillion for the first time, making AMD the fourth U.S. semiconductor company to cross the milestone after Nvidia, Broadcom and Micron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The move extends an extraordinary run for AMD. Shares have gained more than 25% since early August and are up sharply in 2026 as investors increasingly view the company as one of Nvidia\u2019s strongest competitors in the AI infrastructure market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Monday\u2019s rally was also supported by strength across the semiconductor sector. Intel jumped double digits, while the broader Philadelphia Semiconductor Index advanced more than 2%. Falling oil prices and easing Treasury yields provided an additional boost to technology shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AMD continues to benefit from growing demand for AI accelerators and server CPUs, while its expansion into complete AI systems\u2014including processors, networking equipment and related hardware\u2014has strengthened its position in the rapidly expanding data-center market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
