While he acknowledged Trump\u2019s goal of strengthening the <strong>domestic auto industry<\/strong>, he argued that so far, the impact has been <strong>more financial burden than economic benefit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ford sources most of its <strong>steel and aluminum domestically<\/strong>, but its supply chain still relies on <strong>imports<\/strong>, meaning additional tariffs could <strong>significantly increase costs<\/strong>. Ford\u2019s <strong>incoming CFO, Sherry House<\/strong>, echoed Farley\u2019s concerns, noting that even minor cost increases from suppliers <strong>accumulate into a major financial strain<\/strong> on the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Farley expressed particular concern over <strong>a long-term 25% tariff on Mexican goods<\/strong>, set to take effect <strong>March 1<\/strong>, warning that such a move could be <strong>\u201cdevastating\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>\u201cblow a hole\u201d<\/strong> in the U.S. auto industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To address these concerns, Farley is heading to <strong>Washington, D.C.<\/strong>, for the second time in three weeks to meet with <strong>lawmakers and government officials<\/strong>.
