Analyst <strong>Stephen Gengaro<\/strong> increased his target to <strong>$508 from $483<\/strong> while maintaining a <em>Buy<\/em> rating, emphasizing Tesla\u2019s artificial intelligence\u2013driven Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology and its emerging <strong>robotaxi service<\/strong> as central to future growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe believe that Tesla&#8217;s AI-based Full Self-Driving technology and Robotaxi initiatives are critical to the story and a large part of our valuation,\u201d Gengaro wrote in a client note. He added that Tesla\u2019s FSD software continues to improve in real-world performance, particularly in smoother decision-making and features such as autonomous parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gengaro also highlighted Tesla\u2019s <strong>Cortex AI training cluster<\/strong> at Giga Texas, which he believes will accelerate progress on FSD capabilities. His own experience with the software, he noted, shows steady improvement in recent updates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The analyst remains optimistic about the rollout of <strong>Tesla\u2019s robotaxi network<\/strong>, currently operating in <strong>Austin<\/strong> and the <strong>San Francisco Bay Area<\/strong>. Tesla plans to expand the service to <strong>eight to ten metropolitan regions by the end of 2025<\/strong>, with safety drivers still present during the pilot phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Stifel sees long-term promise in Tesla\u2019s AI ventures, Gengaro flagged concerns about the <strong>automotive division\u2019s profitability<\/strong>, citing falling gross profit per vehicle and \u201cflattish\u201d average selling prices. However, he believes the new <strong>standard Model Y and Model 3<\/strong> will help cushion margins by offsetting lost EV tax credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday\u2019s gain followed a <strong>5.9% decline last week<\/strong>, when Tesla briefly fell below $400 before closing Friday at <strong>$404.35<\/strong>.
