E*Trade Considers Banning Meme-Stock Influencer Keith Gill

ETrade is weighing the possibility of banning meme-stock influencer Keith Gill from its platform amid concerns about potential stock manipulation following his recent substantial purchases of GameStop. According to a Wall Street Journal report, Gill bought a large volume of GameStop options on ETrade just before sparking another meme-stock frenzy in May. This move has raised red flags within the trading platform, prompting them to consider action against Gill to prevent any potential manipulation.

Gill, known as DeepF—ing Value on Reddit, became a central figure in the original meme-stock craze of 2021. His influence over retail investors has once again demonstrated its power, with GameStop’s stock price soaring dramatically following his actions. This resurgence has caught the attention of both market participants and regulators, leading to discussions about the appropriateness of Gill’s activities and their impact on market stability.

Intel Unveils New Xeon Processors at Computex

At the Computex show in Taiwan, Intel Corp.’s(INTC) CEO Pat Gelsinger showcased the company’s latest advancements, including the new Xeon 6 data center processors. These processors feature more efficient cores designed to significantly reduce the space required for data center operations. Intel’s new products aim to reclaim market share from competitors such as Nvidia, AMD, and Qualcomm, which have made significant inroads in the tech industry.

Intel’s presentation highlighted benchmarks that position their new silicon as superior to existing options, part of their strategy to counter losses to rivals. Competitors like AMD (AMD) and Qualcomm (QCOM) had previously used Intel’s processors to demonstrate their technological superiority, making Intel’s latest offerings crucial in its bid to regain its standing in the market.

Paramount’s Strategic Plan Amidst Merger Talks

Paramount Global’s (PARA) leadership is preparing to present a strategic plan at the upcoming annual shareholder meeting, outlining the company’s future should a sale not materialize. The plan includes exploring streaming joint venture opportunities, cutting $500 million in costs, and divesting non-core assets. This initiative comes as Paramount awaits approval from controlling shareholder Shari Redstone on a potential merger with Skydance Media and private equity firms RedBird Capital and KKR.

The current leadership, comprising CBS CEO George Cheeks, Paramount Media Networks CEO Chris McCarthy, and Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins, will map out these priorities, underscoring their readiness to navigate the company through uncertain times. This move reflects an effort to ensure the company’s stability and growth regardless of the merger’s outcome.

Nvidia Emails Reveal Musk’s Processor Prioritization for X

Emails obtained by CNBC reveal that Elon Musk directed Nvidia (NVDA) to prioritize shipments of AI processors to his social media company, X (formerly Twitter), over Tesla (TSLA). This decision delayed Tesla’s receipt of over $500 million in Nvidia’s AI processors, impacting the automaker’s timeline for developing its AI and robotics infrastructure.

Musk’s ambitious statements about Tesla’s AI capabilities and planned procurement of Nvidia processors appear to have been contradicted by internal communications at Nvidia. These emails suggest that Musk’s decision to reroute a substantial order of processors to X has set back Tesla’s projects by months, raising questions about his management of resources across his various ventures.

MicroAlgo and WiMi to Establish Quantum Research Center

MicroAlgo (MLGO) and WiMi (WIMI) are collaborating to establish a micro-consciousness quantum research center, integrating multiple scientific disciplines to explore the relationship between consciousness and quantum mechanics. This initiative aims to leverage the principles of quantum theory combined with cutting-edge AI technology to advance understanding in this field.

The research center will encompass physics, mathematics, medicine, genetics, computer science, biology, polymer chemistry, philosophy, psychology, and sociology. The long-term goal is to unify quantum mechanics and human consciousness, pushing the boundaries of scientific exploration and expanding the limitations of current knowledge.
