With 800 BTC and 220% Yield, KULR Reinforces Commitment to Bitcoin as a Strategic Asset
KULR Technology Group (KULR), a global leader in sustainable energy management, announced it has expanded its Bitcoin Treasury holdings by an additional $9 million, bringing its total bitcoin acquisitions to $78 million. The latest investment reflects the company’s deepening commitment to its crypto-focused financial strategy unveiled in December 2024.
The newly acquired bitcoins were purchased at a weighted average price of $103,234 per bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses. With this move, KULR’s total bitcoin holdings now stand at 800.3 BTC.
This strategy is rooted in KULR’s December 2024 announcement to allocate up to 90% of its surplus cash reserves to bitcoin as part of a broader effort to preserve value and enhance shareholder returns. The approach mirrors strategies seen at other forward-thinking tech companies that view bitcoin as a store of value and hedge against inflation.
One of the key metrics KULR uses to evaluate the success of its Bitcoin Treasury is BTC Yield. Defined as the period-over-period percentage change in the ratio of bitcoin holdings to the company’s assumed fully diluted shares outstanding, BTC Yield serves as a proprietary performance indicator to assess how effectively the company is leveraging its treasury strategy to drive shareholder value.
Year to date, KULR has achieved an impressive BTC Yield of 220.26%, signaling robust performance from its bitcoin-focused capital allocation. The company attributes this result to a disciplined acquisition plan funded through a mix of surplus cash and its At-The-Market (ATM) equity program.
“We see bitcoin as not only a technological innovation but also a strategic asset class that enhances long-term shareholder value,” a company spokesperson noted. “BTC Yield provides a measurable way to track that value creation.”
By increasing its BTC position and establishing clear performance metrics, KULR is carving out a unique position among public companies leveraging cryptocurrency as a treasury reserve asset. This crypto-centric approach complements its core business in sustainable energy, and signals to investors that the company is both financially nimble and forward-looking.
As Bitcoin continues to gain traction among institutional investors, KULR’s strategy may offer a template for how tech-driven companies can integrate digital assets into their long-term capital management.
