Record-setting agreement expected to triple Oracle’s cloud infrastructure revenue by fiscal 2028
Oracle Corporation (ORCL) revealed on Monday that it has signed a cloud services agreement worth $30 billion in annual revenue — a staggering figure that surpasses the current size of the company’s entire cloud infrastructure business. The revenue from this landmark deal is expected to begin in fiscal year 2028, according to a regulatory filing. The customer behind the contract remains undisclosed.
The deal is one of the largest cloud contracts ever recorded, and represents a pivotal moment for Oracle as it seeks to strengthen its position in the fiercely competitive cloud computing space dominated by Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. Over the past four quarters, Oracle’s cloud infrastructure revenue totaled $10.3 billion, making the new contract nearly triple the size of its current operations.
“Oracle is off to a strong start in fiscal 2026,” said CEO Safra Catz in the filing. She noted that the company has signed “multiple large cloud services agreements” and emphasized the accelerating growth of Oracle’s database solutions on third-party clouds, which are expanding at a rate of over 100%.
Shares of Oracle surged as much as 8.6% on Monday morning, hitting a record intraday high. The stock is now up 26% year-to-date, fueled by mounting investor optimism over Oracle’s growing cloud portfolio and aggressive AI strategy.
The company has been gaining momentum in the cloud market by catering to enterprises with intensive AI computing needs. Earlier this year, Oracle launched a joint venture called Stargate to provide OpenAI with significant computing power, though the financial impact of that partnership has not yet been included in the company’s earnings or backlog.
Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Anurag Rana noted that the new deal signals a likely surge in Oracle’s capital spending as it scales up to meet demand and expand its cloud infrastructure footprint. With this agreement, Oracle is poised to take a much larger slice of the global cloud market over the next several years.
