New Partnership Advances Thermal Runaway Testing in Recreational Products Sector

ULR Technology Group (NYSE: KULR), a global leader in energy storage solutions, has announced an engineering contract with Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) (NASDAQ: DOOO) to provide its Fractional Thermal Runaway Calorimetry (FTRC) testing services. This significant milestone highlights KULR’s growing influence and dedication to improving battery safety in the expanding electric recreational products market.

Already well-established in safe battery designs for space and military applications, KULR is now broadening its market reach. The company is engaging with potential customers in electric aviation, maritime, EV, and off-road vehicle sectors. The new partnership with BRP showcases BRP’s commitment to thermal runaway management and aligns with KULR’s K1-DS platform, which focuses on regulatory compliance, including NFPA 1192 standards for fire and life safety in recreational vehicles.

“Securing this contract with BRP is a testament to the critical role that FTRC plays in ensuring the safety and reliability of next-generation consumer-facing e-mobility products,” said Michael Mo, CEO of KULR. “FTRC analysis is quickly becoming the de facto method to characterize cell-level thermal runaway, and we are actively working to expand our throughput for this testing in the coming months.”

KULR’s exclusive worldwide license for NASA’s large format FTRC positions it as the industry standard for battery testing and design services. The technology serves top automakers, space exploration companies, and electric truck manufacturers, offering comprehensive thermal runaway characterization for various cell types. This technology enhances battery safety across industries by providing detailed insights into thermal runaway behavior and aiding in regulatory compliance.

As the global battery testing market is projected to reach USD 16.5 billion by 2030, KULR’s FTRC capabilities ensure the development of safe, high-capacity batteries essential for a sustainable future. This partnership with BRP underscores KULR’s pivotal role in advancing battery safety and reliability in the burgeoning e-mobility sector.
