Collaboration Enhances Charging Options for Rivian Electric Vehicle Drivers
Rivian, the electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced that its owners can now access the Tesla Supercharger network, marking a significant development in the EV charging landscape. Rivian owners will be able to utilize certain Superchargers with the appropriate adapter, offering enhanced convenience and flexibility in charging their vehicles.
With this integration, Rivian joins Ford as one of the few automakers granted access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network. Rivian owners can now charge their EVs at over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America, providing them with a vast charging infrastructure for long-distance travel.
Utilizing an adapter provided by Rivian or a certified NACS to CCS1 adapter, Rivian EV owners can seamlessly connect to Tesla Superchargers and initiate charging. The process is designed to be user-friendly, with compatible Superchargers appearing in Rivian navigation systems and enabling automatic billing for a hassle-free charging experience.
This collaboration underscores the growing cooperation within the electric vehicle industry to expand charging infrastructure and improve the overall EV ownership experience. As Rivian continues to advance its electric vehicle lineup, including the upcoming R2 and R3 models with standard Tesla NACS inlet plugs, the integration with Tesla’s Supercharger network further solidifies Rivian’s commitment to customer satisfaction and convenience in electric mobility.
