Sportsbook Expansion and Customer Growth Drive Record Performance
DaftKings (DKNG) delivered strong fourth-quarter and full-year 2024 results, reporting significant revenue growth and an expanding customer base. The company raised its 2025 revenue guidance midpoint to $6.45 billion, reflecting continued momentum in its sportsbook and iGaming offerings.
For Q4 2024, DraftKings generated revenue of $1.39 billion, a 13% increase from $1.23 billion in the same period last year. The growth was driven by strong customer engagement, efficient new user acquisition, and an expanded sportsbook presence in new markets. The May 2024 acquisition of Jackpocket Inc. also contributed to the revenue surge.
Despite customer-friendly outcomes during the NFL season, DraftKings successfully optimized promotional spending and increased its structural sportsbook hold percentage. “We continued to efficiently acquire and engage customers while optimizing our promotional reinvestment,” said CEO Jason Robins. “Heading into 2025, we aim to enhance our customer economics by advancing live betting and cross-selling opportunities across new verticals.”
User Growth and Market Expansion
DraftKings’ Monthly Unique Payers (MUPs) grew 36% year-over-year to 4.8 million in Q4, fueled by strong user retention and expansion into new jurisdictions. Excluding Jackpocket’s contribution, MUPs still rose by 16%. However, Average Revenue per MUP (ARPMUP) declined 16% to $97 due to Jackpocket’s lower ARPMUP and a lower sportsbook hold rate.
The company reaffirmed its 2025 Adjusted EBITDA guidance of $900 million to $1.0 billion and expects approximately 35% revenue growth compared to 2024.
DraftKings is now live with mobile sports betting in 25 U.S. states, covering 49% of the population, and operates iGaming in five states. The company anticipates further expansion into Missouri and Puerto Rico following regulatory approvals.
With strong customer engagement and market expansion, DraftKings remains on track for sustained revenue and profitability growth in 2025 and beyond.
