United Airlines (UAL) has announced its fourth-quarter and full-year 2024 financial results, showcasing record-breaking achievements and reaffirming its trajectory toward sustained growth. The airline reported full-year pre-tax earnings of $4.2 billion, reflecting a pre-tax margin of 7.3%. Adjusted earnings were $4.6 billion with an adjusted pre-tax margin of 8.1%. Full-year diluted earnings per share reached $9.45, with adjusted EPS at $10.61, aligning with the upper range of the company’s 2024 guidance.

United achieved its highest annual passenger count, carrying 174 million customers and operating an average of 4,340 daily flights. The airline recorded top on-time departure rates at all seven U.S. hubs, thanks to investments in personnel, technology, and infrastructure.
The company also spearheaded advancements such as the integration of SpaceX’s Starlink Wi-Fi on over 1,000 aircraft and the launch of Kinective MediaSM, a personalized advertising platform. Sustainability remained a focus, with United being the first U.S. airline to use sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at major airports and executing voluntary SAF operations globally.
Expanding Horizons
United made significant strides in global expansion, introducing nine new international destinations for 2025, including unique offerings in Greenland, Mongolia, and Senegal. The airline operated the largest international and domestic schedules in its history, with nearly 700 daily international flights and over 1.3 million domestic flights in 2024.
