New partnership highlights surging demand for computing power and strengthens revenue diversification
Cloud infrastructure provider CoreWeave (CRWV) is continuing its rapid rise in the artificial intelligence ecosystem, announcing a new multi-year agreement with Anthropic to supply critical computing capacity. The deal, which sent CoreWeave shares higher in early trading, underscores the intensifying race among AI developers to secure the infrastructure needed to power next-generation models.
Under the agreement, CoreWeave will bring new cloud capacity online later this year to support Anthropic’s Claude family of AI models. The partnership will begin with a phased infrastructure rollout, with the potential for expansion as demand grows. While financial terms were not disclosed, the deal reinforces CoreWeave’s position as a key provider of high-performance AI computing.
This latest partnership adds to an already impressive list of agreements. CoreWeave previously secured a multibillion-dollar deal with OpenAI, a major chip order from Nvidia, and an expanded agreement with Meta. These deals reflect the explosive demand for AI infrastructure as companies race to develop and deploy advanced models.
Importantly, the Anthropic agreement also supports CoreWeave’s efforts to diversify its revenue base. The company has historically relied heavily on Microsoft, which accounted for a significant portion of its revenue. With Meta and now Anthropic joining its customer roster, CoreWeave is reducing concentration risk while expanding its footprint across the AI landscape.
For Anthropic, the deal highlights the urgency of securing compute resources. The company has been aggressively pursuing additional capacity through partnerships with firms like Broadcom and Google, and is even exploring the development of its own chips.
As AI adoption accelerates, CoreWeave’s close ties to Nvidia and its specialized “neocloud” model position it as a critical enabler of the industry’s growth. With demand showing no signs of slowing, the company is emerging as a central player in powering the future of artificial intelligence.
