Data center sales surge 117% as Nvidia forecasts $108 billion in third-quarter revenue and signals AI infrastructure spending remains strong

Nvidia (NVDA) delivered another blockbuster quarter, reporting fiscal second-quarter 2027 revenue of $96.2 billion, up 18% sequentially and 106% from a year earlier, as global spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure continued to accelerate.

The chipmaker reported GAAP earnings of $2.46 per diluted share, up 128% year over year, while adjusted earnings reached $2.22 per share. Quarterly net income climbed to $59.7 billion on a GAAP basis. Gross margin stood at 75%.

Nvidia’s Data Center business remained the primary growth engine, generating a record $89 billion in revenue, representing an 18% sequential increase and a 117% surge from the prior-year period. The performance highlights continued demand for Nvidia’s accelerated computing platforms as technology companies, AI laboratories and enterprises expand computing capacity.

CEO Jensen Huang said AI has reached an “inflection point,” with demand accelerating as more AI labs, startups and enterprises deploy increasingly sophisticated models. Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin platform is now ramping into full production, providing another potential catalyst for future growth.

Looking ahead, Nvidia expects third-quarter revenue of approximately $108 billion, plus or minus 2%, while forecasting gross margins of roughly 74%. Importantly, that outlook assumes no Data Center compute revenue from China.

The results reinforce Nvidia’s position at the center of the global AI infrastructure boom, with demand for computing power showing few signs of slowing.
