Collaboration to Harness NVIDIA Cosmos and DGX Cloud for Advanced AI Development

Uber Technologies (UBER) and NVIDIA (NVDA) have joined forces to fast-track the evolution of autonomous driving technology through innovative AI-powered solutions. This collaboration combines Uber’s extensive mobility data with NVIDIA’s cutting-edge platforms, aiming to revolutionize the development of safe and scalable autonomous vehicles (AVs).

“Generative AI will power the future of mobility, requiring both rich data and very powerful compute,” stated Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Uber. “By working with NVIDIA, we are confident that we can supercharge the timeline for safe and scalable autonomous driving solutions.”

Leveraging Rich Data and Advanced Platforms

Uber’s platform processes millions of daily trips, providing a robust dataset for AV model training. This data will be integrated with NVIDIA’s Cosmos™ platform and DGX™ Cloud, enabling AV partners to develop stronger AI models more efficiently.

NVIDIA Cosmos is a state-of-the-art platform featuring generative world foundation models, tokenizers, and advanced pipelines for data processing and model customization. It is purpose-built for physical AI systems such as robots and AVs, reducing cost and resource barriers to democratize access to cutting-edge tools.

NVIDIA DGX Cloud is a fully managed AI platform equipped with the latest NVIDIA architecture and software. It supports flexible term-lengths and machine learning pipeline portability across multi-cloud environments, providing high productivity and resource optimization from day one.

Driving Innovation in Physical AI

“Uber is one of the first mobility leaders to embrace these platforms to accelerate the development and deployment of physical AI systems such as AVs,” said Norm Marks, Vice President of Automotive at NVIDIA. “We’re excited to collaborate with Uber to empower the AV ecosystem with Cosmos and DGX Cloud.”

This partnership underscores a commitment to leveraging AI innovation to address the challenges of developing autonomous mobility solutions. By integrating generative AI with vast data and powerful compute capabilities, Uber and NVIDIA are paving the way for advancements that could redefine the transportation industry.

Looking Ahead

Uber and NVIDIA are expected to share additional details about the collaboration later this year, signaling further progress in their shared vision of autonomous, AI-driven mobility. The initiative highlights the growing convergence of data, AI, and mobility technology to transform how people and goods move in the future.
