Collaboration aims to accelerate Middle Eastern AI innovation as Saudi investment drives regional tech expansion
Adobe (ADBE) and Qualcomm (QCOM) announced a major partnership Wednesday with Humain, an artificial intelligence firm backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), to develop Arabic-centric generative AI tools and expand the region’s technological footprint. The deal aligns with a wave of announcements expected at a U.S.-Saudi investment forum coinciding with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Washington.
As part of the agreement, Adobe will integrate Allam, Humain’s Arabic-trained large language model, into its creative software ecosystem — including tools used for marketing, film, and television production. The move marks one of Adobe’s first major steps into region-specific AI and underscores the growing demand for culturally aligned generative models. In return, Humain will use Adobe Foundry, the company’s enterprise model-building platform, to create custom AI systems tailored to Arab audiences, reflecting local language, heritage, and cultural values.
Qualcomm will power the hardware infrastructure behind the collaboration, supplying its newly launched AI200 and AI250 chips to support the compute needs for video generation and other high-performance AI tasks. These chips will operate within data centers currently being built by Humain, enabling the firm to scale its regional AI services.
Humain CEO Tareq Amin said the partnership forms the foundation of “a new creative intelligence that understands our language, our values, our heritage, and our future.” He added that Qualcomm’s involvement will help “redefine the silicon that powers the next era of generative AI.”
The collaboration underscores Saudi Arabia’s accelerating push into advanced technology sectors. Backed by substantial sovereign wealth funding, Humain is positioning itself as a central hub for AI innovation in the Middle East — and now has the backing of two of the world’s leading technology companies to help build it.
