Strong revenue growth, higher bookings, and expanded manufacturing capacity position the company for continued momentum
Velo3D (VELO) delivered a stronger-than-expected second quarter, surpassing Wall Street estimates on both revenue and earnings as demand for its advanced metal additive manufacturing solutions continued to grow across aerospace, defense, energy, and space markets.
The company reported second-quarter revenue of $20.66 million, well ahead of analyst expectations of $13.52 million and representing 52.3% year-over-year growth. The increase was driven by a 57% rise in 3D printer and parts revenue, supported by higher average selling prices, a favorable product mix, and increased production-related services.
Velo3D also reported an adjusted loss of $0.30 per share, slightly better than analysts’ expectations for a $0.31 per share loss, signaling continued progress toward improving profitability.
CEO Arun Jeldi credited the strong performance to growing customer demand, successful commercial execution, and operational discipline. During the quarter, the company expanded relationships with strategic customers, formed new partnerships, and strengthened its position in industries where precision metal additive manufacturing is becoming increasingly critical.
Commercial momentum remained robust, with $29 million in new bookings during the quarter and a backlog of $31 million at period-end, providing visibility into future revenue. Velo3D also maintained a strong liquidity position, ending the quarter with $91.1 million in cash and cash equivalents.
Reflecting growing confidence in the business, management raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $65 million to $75 million, up from its previous outlook of $60 million to $70 million, while also projecting positive EBITDA during the second half of 2026.
The company also highlighted the opening of its new Livermore Production Campus, a facility expected to triple manufacturing capacity and support increasing customer demand. With expanding production capabilities, improving financial performance, and strengthening industry partnerships, Velo3D appears well positioned to capitalize on the growing adoption of advanced metal additive manufacturing technologies.
