Coinbase’s expanding market share, recurring revenue streams and push beyond traditional crypto trading could create a significant opportunity for COIN shares.
Coinbase Global (COIN) may be setting up for a significant rebound, with a potential move toward $250 per share supported by the company’s increasingly diversified business and expanding position within the global crypto ecosystem.
Despite a challenging cryptocurrency market, Coinbase reported $1.2 billion in second-quarter 2026 revenue and $208 million in adjusted EBITDA. More importantly, the company’s crypto trading volume market share reached an all-time high of 10.3%, up from 9.1% during the first quarter.
The bigger opportunity, however, may extend well beyond traditional trading fees.
Coinbase generated $555 million in subscription and services revenue during Q2, representing approximately 48% of net revenue. That compares with just $6 million in Q2 2020, highlighting Coinbase’s transformation from primarily a cryptocurrency exchange into a broader digital-asset financial infrastructure company.
Stablecoins, custody, derivatives and prediction markets could provide additional growth engines. Coinbase’s derivatives volume has expanded rapidly, while its prediction-markets business reached a $100 million annualized revenue run rate earlier this year.
Regulation remains one of the largest risks. The Senate has yet to advance the CLARITY Act, although Washington continues working toward clearer rules for digital assets.
If crypto activity rebounds while Coinbase continues gaining market share and diversifying revenue, $250 could become an increasingly realistic bullish target. Rather than simply betting on Bitcoin prices, investors may increasingly view Coinbase as infrastructure for the next generation of financial markets.
